Prerequisites

Medal of Valor

Prerequisites

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at own personal risk above and beyond the call of duty

An individual must display a significant act of bravery and heroism in line of duty

Must be witnessed by at least 6 Adult sources

 

Distingished Service Achievement Medal

Prerequisites

Shows an outstanding knowledge, leadership, and motivation within the Corps and elsewhere.

Sets the example at school and at home.

Must be willing to except new responsibilities and be able to complete objectives without being supervised. 

Must be a mentor and a positive role model for younger students.

Any outstanding act to warrant such an award may be applied

GPA of 3.85 or higher for one year

No NJP’s or Referrals

Must have BJMA/PCOM/SA/OC/LOCS

Must be on Drill Team and/or Color Guard

 

Principal’s Achievement

Prerequisites

Shows an outstanding knowledge, leadership, and motivation within the corps.

Sets the example at school and at home.

Must be willing to except new responsibilities and be able to complete objectives without being supervised. 

Must be a mentor and a positive role model for younger students.

Any outstanding act to warrant such an award may be applied

GPA of 3.7 or higher for one year

No NJP’s or Referrals

Must have OC/SA/HAE

Must be on Drill Team and/or Color Guard

 


Scholastic Achievement

Prerequisites

GPA of 3.60 or higher for 1 year

No more than (1) one NJP’s or Referrals per semester

 

BJM Achievement

Prerequisites

Shows an outstanding knowledge, leadership, and motivation within the corps.

Must be willing to except new responsibilities and be able to complete objectives to a high standard without being supervised. 

Sets the example at school and at home.

Must be a mentor and a positive role model for younger students.

Any outstanding act to warrant such an award may be applied

No more than (1) one NJP’s or Referrals per semester

Honor of Academic Excellence

Prerequisites

GPA of 3.50 or higher for one school year

 

Outstanding Citizen

Prerequisites

Must volunteer or perform 100 hours of community service at an approved site.

No more than (1) one NJP or Referrals per semester

 

Outstanding Family Member

Prerequisites

Must have extraordinary family emergency or crisis in which an individual demonstrates willingness to, and the courage to, except the additional responsibilities of safe guarding the family

Parents Recommendation w/ letter of the extraordinary circumstances

 

Leadership / OCS

Prerequisites

Must attend and pass the 3-day Officer/NCO Leadership Training Course

Must hold a leadership billet (duty) in the Corps
 

 

Swim Qualification

Prerequisites

Must pass an approved Swimming Course

 

Joint Meritorious Commendation

Prerequisites

Must participate with an outside unit for the positive growth of the Corps and act in accordance with the rules and policies of the BJMC.

 

Good Conduct Ribbon

Prerequisites

One year of good conduct that upholds Marine Corps Traditions, with no more than one visit to BMC per year

Conduct becoming a Marine at all times
